In accordance with the competence of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus the Department carries out the following functions:
• conducting the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Individual Entrepreneurs;
• providing methodological and organizational support for the registration and liquidation (termination of activity) of legal entities, coordinating of the activity of registration bodies;
• supervising the work of registration bodies on registration and liquidation (termination of activity) of legal entities.

For providing assistance to the legal entities during the process of documents preparation and its improvement the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with registration bodies had drafted a Model Form of a Statute of a Limited Liability Company. Legal entities may follow this Model Form for the purpose of observance the requirements of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of June 15, 2010 amending the Law of the Republic of Belarus “On Legal Entities”.
