Department consists of two divisions:

Division on Legal Expertise and Methodology of its conduction Division on Supervision and Legal Expertise

The main directions of the work of the Department are:

execution of legal expertise of the orders and regulations of the ministries; orders and regulations of other state bodies; decisions of the public administration bodies; regulations of the National Bank; legal acts of the National Academy of Sciences;

preparation of conclusions on correspondence of the normative legal act to the established legislation requirements;

transfer normative legal acts after the legal expertise to the National Center of Legal Information of the Republic of Belarus; transfer registered normative legal acts to the rule-making bodies;

conducting examinations in the National Bank, National Academy of Sciences, ministries, other state bodies, public administration bodies for the purpose of compliance the law of legal expertise;

methodological assistance to the National Bank, National Academy of Sciences, ministries, other state bodies, public administration bodies when preparing documents for legal expertise;

methodological assistance to the departments of justice of the regional executive committees when conducting legal expertise;

submitting to the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus proposals concerning abolishing decisions of the local councils of deputies in case of their discrepancy with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus;

analysis and summarizing of experience in the rule-making bodies in the sphere of conducting legal expertise;

carrying out teaching and consulting work, participation in seminars, conferences and other events of legal nature;

analysis of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, enforcement practices and theoretical researches in the field of law and preparation on this basis proposals for the improvement and development of the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.
