HISTORY OF ESTABLISHMENT |
Nowadays more then 35 countries of the world established state bodies to encourage implementation of the International Humanitarian Law.
The Government of the Republic of Belarus established the Commission on Implementation of the International Humanitarian Law under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus by the Decision ¹ 1242 of September 19, 1997.
Originally the Commission was headed by the Deputy Prime-Minister of the Republic of Belarus. Since 2002 the organizational security of the Commission’s activity is entrusted to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and the Commission is headed by the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Belarus.
